Payment

Payments for new construction can be made online. Payments can only be made on invoices (quotes that have been formally accepted and turned into an invoice by Connexus staff). For residential services, please call our Builders Team at 763.323.4214. For commercial services, plat developments or lighting projects, please call our Engineering Department at 763.323.2740. If I have questions who do I contact?

What application do I fill out? When should I submit for application?

If you are changing your existing service such as going from overhead to underground, rerouting your service or moving a meter, you will fill out the Service Change Application. Please view our service change FAQs for questions/concerns.

If you are building a new home, garage, or pole building you will fill out the Residential Application.

Please submit an application as soon as you are ready to move forward with service installation.

Do I have to submit for new service to an additional garage, pole building etc. if I already have an existing service?

No. If you are not adding a second meter you do not have to submit for service. You can work with an electrician to route service to your addition.

What do I do if I want temporary service?

Fill out an application for new service and indicate temporary service on the application. For overhead or underground temporary service, please review our installation guides.

What is the process, requirements, cost, and timeline for getting service installed or changed?

Please note that our costs, requirements and timelines vary dependent on the type of service or work that is being done. Timelines are subject to change based on workload and whether or not all required items have been received prior to scheduling installation. Listed below is information based on service type:

Established development that has a lot feed point on site and no buried private facilities such as well and/or septic systems:
The application submitted will be processed within 1-2 business days of receipt.
*If the application is missing any information this may delay the process.

You will receive an email confirmation with a work order number and the requirements for your service installation. The most common items needed for service installation are as follows:
  • Application
  • Payment (please review our Schedule of Charges for an approximate cost for this service type.)
  • Electrical Permit (from a licensed electrician or state inspector)
After all requirements have been met and the site is ready we can schedule your service installation. You will receive an approximate timeline during order confirmation. The overall length of a project will vary. However, most projects are completed in 6-8 weeks.

Established development that has a lot feed point on site and has buried private facilities such as well and/or septic systems:
The application submitted will be processed within 1-2 business days of receipt.
*If the application is missing any information this may delay the process.

What does site ready mean?

Site ready means that the site is to grade, meter socket has been installed, all buried private facilities have been marked, there are no obstacles in the way and the permit/inspection has been received.

How do I check the status of my service installation?

When will I receive a quote or invoice and how is it sent?

For services in established developments with city water and sewer with no buried private facilities, a quote will be mailed within 2 business days.

For services that need to be reviewed by our design team the quote will not be available until after the designer has visited the site.

We mail all quotes unless you request it electronically. Please ensure you provide a valid email address.

Once you approve your quote we can provide you an invoice to make an online payment. If you choose to pay by check or money order you can pay for your service off of your quote.

General Information

Accurately filling out your application ensures that we can process your request in a timely manner

Each project varies dependent on your request. This means there may be additional requirements outside of our commonly listed items.

Charges for new services and service changes are set by our board of directors and are subject to change each year.

Additional charges may apply to your service after the job is complete.Going from overhead to underground service may require fencing, landscaping or concrete to be removed for installation.
