The Connexus Energy Board of Directors, elected by our membership, governs the electric cooperative. District 4 Director Appointment
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 22, 2024
Ramsey, Minn. — Joe Gruenes was appointed to the Connexus Energy Board of Directors on April 18. Gruenes resides in Clear Lake and has been a Connexus Energy member for 25 years. He is the office manager for a local dental office and a sleep apnea center and owns JJAG Properties. Gruenes has a B.S. degree in agriculture, serves on the Clear Lake Lions Club and St. Marcus finance council, and is a member of the Becker Chamber of Commerce.
"With my background in business management, budgeting and statistical analysis, I am prepared to contribute to the Connexus Energy Board of Directors for the advantage of our cooperative members,” Gruenes said. “I am committed to leveraging my experience to ensure that Connexus Energy remains a steadfast and reliable energy provider, dedicated to serving our members with affordable and dependable energy solutions.”
“Joe brings to the board a strong business management background and dedication to community service,” said Chair Fran Bator. “He will serve our member-owners well.”
After Director Ken Fiereck notified the Board of his intention to relocate out of the service territory, the Board declared Fiereck’s seat vacant and included in the 2024 director election. Due to a lack of candidates in District 4, the Board was required per Article III, Section 4 of the cooperative’s bylaws to appoint a successor. Gruenes began serving the remaining one-year of Fiereck’s term on April 18, 2024.
Connexus welcomes Gruenes to the Board and thanks Fiereck for his 39 years of service to the cooperative members.
