It’s Cash Back time! In 2019, we are giving $8.3 million back to our members. If you are getting Cash Back, you will find your credit included on page 2 of this month’s electric bill. If you had at least one bill from Connexus Energy in 2018, you will receive Cash Back this year.
Connexus Energy is YOUR electric cooperative. As a cooperative, we operate for the benefit of everyone using our system. When you move into a home or establish a business in Connexus’ service area, you become a member of our cooperative. Cash Back is distributed annually based on the amount of electricity you use. It’s just one of the advantages of being our member. Moreover, it’s one of the great things that sets us apart from other utilities.
Thousands of former Connexus Energy members have unclaimed Cash Back waiting for them. Perhaps it’s you or you know one of them? It’s easy to check out.

Rum River Art Center in Anoka is a recent recipient of a $1,000 donation through our “Your Community, Your Choice” program. With this Facebook-based program, you choose which local organizations receive our support.
Connexus Energy, in partnership with Nest, is rewarding you for using less energy when everyone is using more. You get a $125 rebate for signing up for Rush Hour Rewards.
When you sign up for Rush Hour Rewards, Connexus Energy will reward you to reduce the electric load during times when demand for energy is high (that’s the rush hour). You don’t need to do anything. Your Nest thermostat will do all the work for you, while still keeping your home and you comfortable.

Raspberry Crumble Bars
Ingredients:
6 oz package Raspberry Jell-O
2 cups boiling water
2 1/2 cups salted pretzel sticks (before crushing)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 stick (8 Tbsp) butter
1 (8oz) package cream cheese – softened
1 (8oz) package Cool Whip – thawed
3/4 cup granulated sugar
12 oz bag frozen raspberries – thawed
Preparation:
Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
Combine packet of Jell-O with 2 cups of boiling water and set aside to cool to room temperature. Crush pretzels in a ziploc bag. Melt 1 stick of butter than add 1/4 cup sugar in saucepan. Add pretzels and mix together. Lightly press pretzel mix into a 13×9-inch dish and bake for 10 minutes at 350°F, then cool to room temperature. While pretzel mix is cooling, beat cream cheese and 3/4 cup sugar until well combined. Stir in Cool Whip and mix until well combined. Spread mixture over cooled pretzels and go all the way to the edges to create a seal. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Place raspberries evenly on top of the cream filling and pour Jell-O over raspberries and refrigerate until Jell-O is set.
During National Pollinator Week in June, Connexus Energy members were invited to Everything Under the Sun, a special event focusing on our efforts to help the pollinator population. The event held at Ramsey Renewable Station, was also an opportunity for members to see our new solar plus battery storage facility up close.
Connexus Energy CEO Greg Ridderbusch announced the Connexus campus in Ramsey is now powered by 100% renewable energy. Connexus is committed to cost-competitive, renewable energy sources.
It wouldn’t be a pollinator event without bees and honey. Connexus was the first in the country to put bee apiaries in its solar gardens.
Connexus Energy invests in the education of our youth. In 2019, we donated $58,000 in scholarships to our local high schools.

Greek Pasta Salad
Ingredients:
Preparation:
In bowl combine tomatoes, feta cheese, olives, parsley, and onion. Blot cucumber dry on paper towel before adding to salad.
Cook pasta according to directions. Cool, stirring occasionally to keep it from sticking.
Combine pasta and salad fixings in a large bowl. When ready to serve, add the dressing and toss. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
