Connexus Energy is pleased to announce the appointment of Betsy Wergin to its Board of Directors. Board Chair Wojciechowski stated, “Ms. Wergin will be an asset to the cooperative with her outstanding industry and leadership experience. We feel privileged to have her join us.”
Wergin is very familiar with the energy industry having served for over seven years as a Public Utilities Commissioner for the State of Minnesota. “In that position, I learned so much about energy generation, transmission, distribution, and rates. More recently, we worked on issues concerning wind and solar energy growth in Minnesota, and across the nation, while always watching for the interest of the consumer,” says Wergin.
Wergin’s experience also includes over five years as a Minnesota State Senator and eight years as a Sherburne County Commissioner. “I have been privileged to serve on many boards in a wide variety of business interests. I am prepared and look forward to serving the members of Connexus Energy,“ adds Wergin.
The Connexus Board conducted a public search for director candidates upon Michael Kerr relocating out of District 3. Wergin’s appointment is effective until next spring’s election by the membership.
