It happens
(more than ever before)

Vehicles hitting electric equipmentDid you know that trees are no longer the number one cause of outages? The “public” is now responsible for nearly one-third of the outages that occur (outside of major storm events); this includes running into poles, digging into our lines, smashing into switchgear cabinets, or anything else that causes an outage.

Dear Connexus Energy

(letter from last winter)

Last night at 12:30 a.m. a vehicle struck and broke a power line pole across the street from my house, cutting service to my home and my neighbor’s house across the street. The feed line to my house was laying across the road. The temp outside was in the teens below zero. Your crews arrived about an hour after the power went out. They assessed the situation very quickly and disconnected my feed line so it wasn’t a hazard to traffic. Around 3:30 a.m. a lineman knocked on my door and told me because of the bitter cold the power pole would not be fixed until later the following afternoon. He said they were bringing generators for my family and my neighbors so we wouldn’t freeze in our homes. The generator arrived and we had power by 5:10 a.m. Wow! Just Wow! I am so thankful and impressed with the crew that saved us from a dangerous situation, all the while working so hard in the dead of night in the bitter cold. Thank you Connexus Energy. Thank you very much!!!!
