Wildlife Outreach & Heritage Labs

Connexus Energy has been recognized by Anoka County for more than 25 years of support for youth environmental and cultural programs in our schools.

The Wildlife Outreach Program offers presentations on Minnesota animals to local schools in the north metro. Naturalists from the Wargo Nature Center share information about an animal’s habitat, adaptations, and conservation issues during a fun, informal session that may feature fur, bones, mounts, and costumes to bring the animals to life for the students. More than 25,000 participate in this free program each year.

Each year, our support for the Heritage Lab allows 3,000 students in grades 1-6 to participate in a full-day, outdoor historical program at a reduced cost. The students participate in hands-on activities related to one of five different time periods in Minnesota history.

Safety Outreach

Connexus Energy’s Electric Safety Presentations reach more than 10,000 Minnesotans every year. Audiences include students, contractors, firefighters, emergency medical professionals, public utility works, and the general public. We’re committed to providing electric safety education, key to saving lives and reducing electrical accidents.
