Connecting with our members

April 12, 2019

(Ramsey, MN) — New technology is enabling Connexus Energy to connect and engage with its 134,000 members like never before.

At the cooperative’s Annual Meeting held on April 10, 2019, in Ramsey, Connexus Energy CEO Greg Ridderbusch detailed how the cooperative is taking advantage of the new technology. “We completed two major projects last year; solar plus storage and the installation of our new AMI meters. Both create value for our members. The AMI meters, coupled with new programs like Peak-Time Rebate, give members more control over their energy usage, as well as more opportunities to engage with their utility.”

Ridderbusch also highlighted Connexus Energy’s outstanding customer satisfaction results, including the fact that when it comes to reliability, Connexus is among the top 3% of utilities in the nation.

In his financial report, Chief Financial Officer Mike Bash reiterated that Connexus Energy is financially solid. “For two years in a row, our rates have remained stable. We are able to do this because we keep our operating costs as low as possible.” Bash also announced that in 2019 Connexus will have returned $100 million in Cash Back to members.

Board Chair Fran Bator’s message reflected the “connecting with members” theme. “Annually, we engage and connect with our members hundreds of thousands of times. Whether it’s a phone call, a text, or meeting members in person when they come and tour our solar garden, those are valuable connections with our members.”

Featured keynote speaker Lori Higgins, President of the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce focused on the collaborative efforts between the Chamber, Connexus Energy, and Anoka County to promote economic development in the region.
