Custom
Lighting
If you are
considering a custom lighting fixture/pole application, please
read the Material Submittal Guidelines to ensure your qualify
for the Connexus Outdoor Lighting Rate.
Material
Submittal Guidelines
The following guidelines must be
adhered to in order to submit custom outdoor lighting material
for consideration of acceptance under Connexus Energy's outdoor
lighting energy and maintenance rate schedule. Outdoor lighting
material is defined as all Luminaires and components, poles,
pole attachments, and bases.
1. The Manufacturer must submit a
complete, working sample of the proposed luminaire along with
the project it is intended for including a color sample. Ballast
assemblies must be located in the luminaire. The luminaire must
also meet the following requirements:
a. Toolless access to the lamp
and ballast tray assemblies.
b. Ballast tray assembly and starter must be unobstructed for
replacement maintenance.
c. Luminairie must have "Terminal Block" for power
leads (screw down type).
d. No crimp connectors on any internal connections. Must be
wirenuts. (Quick disconnects required with ballast tray
assemblies).
e. Latch to open unit must be designed to operate freely and
without tools.
f. Retainer cables on lens/glassware and ballast assemblies
(if subject to dropping).
g. Complete shop drawings/specifications with catalog numbers.
2. The following data must be
submitted with the sample:
a. Complete PHOTOMETRIC data
(4-post type) matching existing requirements. Independent
Testing Lab (ITL) preferred.
b. Pole EPA's tested with banner arms, flag holders etc. to
meet AASHTO criteria with a 30% gust factor.
c. Luminairie EPA's, ITL preferred.
d. Complete specification data to include:
1. Pole details and drawings
complete with:
a. all dimensions
b. wall thickness
c. base details
d. handhold location and size
e. complete materials specifications
2. Complete explanation of
paint process to meet ASTM criteria with appropriate
documentation
3. Warranty on all products
including paint finish.
Connexus Energy reserves the
right to approve or deny the material submitted for
qualification for additional concerns not enumerated within
these guidelines.
