Ground Source Heat Pumps and Cooling (GSHP)
Save all year long with a ground source heat pump. It is the most efficient heating system available at 300% efficiency, so it is ideal for today's energy-efficient homes. It also provides 100% of your home's heating and cooling requirements.
Why install a GSHP and Cooling System?
Less expensive to operate with your air conditioning system. Saves $200-$400 each year over natural gas (based on 70ยข per
therm)*. Also saves $700-$1000 each year over LP (based on $1.40 per Therm).*

How does a GSHP and Cooling System Work?
- Water and antifreeze solution is circulated through a series of plastic pipes, called ground loops, which are buried 4-6 feet beneath the ground.
- Ground loops provide a renewable and reliable energy source, because underground
temperatures remain stable.
- Heat pumps use a typical refrigeration system to extract heat from the ground loops by changing the temperature, then circulating heat through standard ductwork. The
system simply reverses during the summer to provide air conditioning.
