Downed Power Lines
Do you know what to do if you see a power line down?

Hazard HamletHazard Hamlet Connexus Energy believes in safety. We believe educating children on electrical safety is the key to saving lives and reducing electrical accidents.

Our interactive Hazard Hamlet presentation is perfect for preschoolers through sixth grade. The presentation provides information on the do's and don'ts of electrical safety. Children will have an opportunity to see the power of electricity and learn about potential hazards associated with unsafe behavior around power lines and household circuitry.

With the help of our Hazard Hamlet display, the presenter discusses scenarios where electrical dangers are present including:
  • Cutting down or climbing trees near power lines
  • Flying kites around power lines
  • Using ladders or working around power lines
  • Using electricity near water
  • Plugging appliances into electrical outlets
Children participating in our Hazard Hamlet program will gain valuable electrical safety information that may save their life. Each participant will receive an electrical safety activity book and pencil. The presentation takes approximately one hour, including a 10-minute Louie the Lightning Bug Video, and is limited to groups of 20 or more. There will be an opportunity for questions after the presentation.
