Dual Fuel - A Demand Response Program
Benefits Pay
only 5.85¢ vs. 10.3¢ per kWh during the winter (October - May).
How it works
An electric heating system is used as the primary heat source and is
supplemented during peak demand periods with an alternate heat
source.*
During peak electrical demand periods, the heat source automatically
switches from the primary electric heating system to the alternate
heat source. The alternate heat source is used up to 12 hours per
control time on the coldest days of the year and will not exceed 400
hours per heating season.
Qualifying

- Electric Mini-Boiler
- Electric Furnace
- Baseboard Heat
- Plenum Heater
- Wall or Ceiling Heater
Qualifying
Alternate Heat Sources:
*Portable heaters and wood burning stoves DO NOT qualify as an alternate heat source.
