Sponsorships & Programs
Our community partners
Connexus Energy works with our community partners to make things better for all Minnesotans. Our contributions to the growth and positive development
of our communities have earned Connexus Energy a place on the prestigious
Minnesota Keystone Program list of companies who are recognized for enhancing Minnesota’s quality of life.
Key community programs:
Food Shelf Project
As local food shelves experience dramatic increases in the number of people coming to ask them for help, they are having to deal with a lack of refrigeration equipment.
Connexus Energy is working with our local food shelves, donating walk-in-coolers and freezers, as well as display coolers.
To date, we’ve donated refrigeration equipment to the ACBC Food Shelf in Anoka, NACE in East Bethel, Family Pathways in Cambridge, and the Princeton Pantry.
Rachel’s Challenge
Connexus Energy sponsors the Rachel's Challenge program in our schools.
The program is named for Rachel Scott, the first person killed in the Columbine High School shootings in 1999. It is based on her diaries and essays about how one kind act can make a difference for someone.
Rachel’s father created the program after her death, and it’s been used in high schools across the country as a way to encourage students to create a more positive environment.
Wildlife Outreach & Heritage Labs
Connexus Energy is recognized by Anoka County for our 20+ years of support for youth environmental and cultural programs in our schools. Because of Connexus’ support of the
Wildlife Outreach and Heritage Lab programs, half a million students have learned a little more about Minnesota’s wildlife and history.
Scholarships
We believe education is essential. Every year, Connexus Energy offers scholarships to high school students living in our service area. In 2012, 45 students from 22 local high schools received scholarships from Connexus Energy. To apply for a scholarship, contact your high school directly.
Connexus Energy also offers scholarships to those wanting to pursue careers as electrical line workers. To apply, contact
Dakota County Technical College,
Minnesota State Community and Technical College - Wadena Campus or
Minnesota West Community and Technical College - Jackson Campus directly.
National Sports Center
Connexus Energy is a proud sponsor of the
National Sports Center (NSC) in Blaine. With over four million visitors annually, the NSC is a showcase for youth athletics and is one of the largest facilities of its kind in the country.
Amber Alert
Because of Connexus Energy’s initiative,
Amber Alert is in place throughout Minnesota. Amber Alert provides an immediate means of notifying communities that a child has been abducted.
Safety outreach
Connexus’ electric safety presentations reach more than 10,000 Minnesotans every year. Our audiences include students, contractors, firefighters, emergency medical professionals, public utility workers, and the general public. To book one of our safety demonstrations, call 763.323.4233.
