Compact Fluorescent Bulb Recycling FREE and CONVENIENT CFL recycling at
We've made bulb recycling for our residential customers as easy as a trip to your local Menards store. Simply drop off your CFLs at the service desk (please note: no tubes or other items containing Mercury will be accepted).
Used fluorescent and high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps require special care because they contain a small amount of mercury. Because it's important to limit the amount of mercury entering our environment, Minnesota law states that fluorescent bulbs cannot be disposed of with your household garbage. Although fluorescent bulbs require special care after they burned out, they'll last up to 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs, and they use 75 percent less energy. With today's improving lighting technology, fluorescent bulbs give you the same warm quality of light as regular bulbs. |
