Benefits As part of the working relationship, Connexus Energy provides its employees with an outstanding benefits package. The following is a summary of the benefits offered at Connexus Energy:

Health Care Plan
Connexus Energy offers full-time employees two options for medical coverage through Medica. Connexus Energy and full-time employees participating in the plan share the premium costs.

Dental Plan
Full-time employees are eligible for the dental plan provided through the Delta Dental Plan of Minnesota. Coverage includes expenditures such as regular check-ups and orthodontics. The employee and Connexus Energy share in the costs of this program.

Group Life Insurance
Connexus Energy provides basic life insurance at no fee to full-time employees. A benefit is provided in the amount equal to base annual compensation. There is also an option available to purchase additional employee supplemental and/or dependent life insurance coverage.

Short-Term disability (STD)
The plan provides full-time employees on the eighth calendar day of disability, replacement income of 60% of an employee’s base pay, up to a maximum of $1,000 per week for as many as 12 weeks.

Long-Term Disability (LTD)
The long-term disability plan generally provides eligible full-time employees income equal to 60% of an employee’s base pay when coordinated with social security or worker’s compensation benefits after 13 weeks off of the job, as a result of any disabling injury or illness.

Defined Benefit Pension
The Connexus Energy Defined Benefit Pension Plan is devoted to provide a monthly retirement income. This benefit is based on the individual’s age, years of service, and average salary before retirement. Employees are commonly eligible for the retirement plan after 12 full calendar months of 1,000 hours of service.

Retirement Savings Plan 401(k)
The long-term 401(k) savings plan allows employees to defer taxes through pre-tax contributions that may be placed in various investment funds selected by the employee. Connexus Energy makes a maximum contribution to the plan of up to 4% of the employee’s salary.

Flexible Spending Account
Eligible participants may use this program to pay the employee’s portion of the premium for medical coverage (including dental and optometry) and dependent care assistance using pre-tax dollars.

Holidays
Connexus Energy will pay each of its employee’s eight hours of regular pay for the following holidays or days observed for the following holidays:
  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Eve Day
  • Christmas Day
  • Floating Holiday (3)
Flex Leave Full-time employees accrue and accumulate flex leave with pay according to a predetermined schedule based on years of service with Connexus Energy.

Tuition Reimbursement Program
Connexus Energy offers full-time employees reimbursement for job-related education that either maintains or improves the employee’s job skills that are required by Connexus Energy. Expenses covered include books, fees, and registration.

Wellness Program
Connexus Energy's Lifestyle Management Program (LMP) is a year-round education and lifestyle/behavior change program designed to help employees achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Employee Assistance Program
Provides free confidential 24-hour support, information, and referral service which employees and family can receive professional help in dealing with job, family, and personal problems.
