Central Air Conditioning Rebate Program

An Air Conditioning study conducted by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) found that 60 percent of all new air conditioners were not installed properly. As a result, manufacturers have requested utilities to adopt rebate guidelines focusing on quality installation practices. 

The 2010 air conditioning rebate program focuses on key areas of the installation process to help ensure our customers get the maximum benefit from their new air conditioner.

Qualifying systems must be ENERGY STAR  rated or listed on the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) directory.

Rebate Summary
Customers who purchase and install a qualifying air conditioner from one of our registered contractors may receive a rebate up to $330.

  • Air conditioner must be installed within the Connexus Energy electrical service area.

  • Limit one rebate per customer account.

  • A certified HVAC contractor must perform installation. Search for registered contractors. 

  • Only registered contractors have rebate applications. Complete rebate details are detailed on the back of the application form.

Replacing An Existing Air Conditioner
Making the decision to replace a working air conditioner takes time, research, and planning. According to the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute if you answer "yes" to a few of the questions below, you may want to consider consulting with a certified HVAC contractor about replacing your system. 

  • Is your current system more than 10 years old?

  • Are you using more energy than past years?

  • Does your equipment need to be repaired every year?

  • Is your HVAC system noisy?

  • Are some rooms in your home too warm or too chilly?

  • Does your home seem humid, which is caused by poor system operation or leaky ductwork?

  • Does your home get dusty when you operate your air conditioning system? This could also mean your ductwork needs to be inspected and possibly sealed, or that your filter needs to be replaced.
